Once Upon an Art

Yesterday, I’ve discovered something about myself. I was at the Chicago Cultural Center, showing a friend around, looking at artsy stuff and talking about it. Yes, I realized that I can express my thoughts about art with words. That’s pretty much the best high I have felt in a long time. Do you know what it feels to fly? I do now.

Furthermore, I’ve always had the blessing and curse of seeing things with both my eyes and heart. Actually it’s only a blessing.

art photograph balloons I’ve also been lucky to notice these things that one usually does not. Seriously, without my luck I would have never decided to go for a walk and see this extremely beautiful coincidence of  a perfect photograph. I don’t know if someone left it there deliberately. I usually try to imagine the history of an object but I was so taken back by the smile inflicted upon me when I saw this that I just didn’t care how it happened but happy that I was lucky enough to see it. Also, I’ve always been into balloons. It’s being able to fly but still restrained to Earth. I took this one in 2005. I didn’t actually realize that there was an airplane in the photograph when I took it. Can you find it? How could a balloon be so much higher than an airplane but so close to the ground at the same time? Half a decade later and I’m still obsessed with these flying objects.

Another thing I am obsessed with, crosses. I see the above one everyday on my way to work and wonder how long it’s been there and what feelings does it bestow on other walkers. I end this by recommending that you  always carry a camera because you never know what you’ll see that will inspire you.
