Wine, cheese, cupcakes, pho and I Fight Dragons with tweeps, oh my!

This is why I love Chicago, explained in pictures and and captions.

Friday rolls around and I’m ready for the weekend. I head over to the Japan America Society of Chicago for their wine and cheese tasting. We sampled wines from Wines for Humanity, a company dedicated to bringing the best wines to you while working with charity. Drink good wine + raise money for charity = content heart of mine. A very generous Jeremy, whom I met that night, supplied us with  Sugar Bliss cupcakes. Yes, more content heart of mine.

Getting ready to leave I ring @FeliciaCago. She’s been giving @antiGabe a drive around Chicago during his visit from Detroit to come to our amazing city for a pho tweetup. I’ll let Felicia explains to you all about it. Be on the lookout for her post and pictures of the tweetup! Back to calling Felicia and Gabe. We end up going to Elephant and Castle for a good drink and a better chat. We mention the word “hashtag” and then comes Laura, wearing very stylish glasses. I knew then that I would like her. In a matter of seconds, we become friends with Lauren. We discussed the use of hashtag and her band @IFightDragons, by the way, check them out! I’m spending my afternoon jamming to their music.

Aren’t her glasses fantastic?!

Saturday we meet up with 20 or so tweeps at Pho Viet but before that I took Gabe for a tour around Chicago. Besides it being very windy and snowy I had a lot of fun seeing the city through a tourist’s eye. We then met up with @Chanthana for chai tea lattes at Uncommon Ground which were uber tasty!

Hours and pho later we’re at the Fat Cat having more drinks and laughs!

What a great way to spend the weekend!
