Twitter Unveils New ReTweet Trick

Apr 20, 2010 by

I’m sure many of you have always thought it was an extra step to go through by clicking “ReTweets” then going to “Your Tweets, ReTweeted” to find out who retweeted your tweets. Well, seems like the people behind twitter agree too!  As of about 4:15PM CST today, every time someone uses the “retweet” button  to retweet your tweet it goes directly to your @replies section.  See below for an example. This could be a glitch or not. We’ll have to wait and see. If it is the real deal then I’m happy it was done! What are your thoughts?

UPDATE: Looks like maybe it was a glitch after all. Who knows, maybe they were experimenting with something new. I do hope they do implement that function.

Hallelujah! It's about time. I always miss thanking people who RT me using the RT feature.

I know, it was always an extra step for me too. I checked today and I think they might have been experimenting after all. Let's hope they do switch back.

I think once people figure out how it works, it will make the new Retweet process less objectionable.

This actually is really helpful. My last post was my most Retweeted ever and it's nice to follow those who tweet your stuff. I hope it's accurate and works! Thanks for the info!

Congrats on your most retweeted post Scott. Yes, I think, if it's here to stay it's a great tool.
