The New Effective Social Media Way to Recruit Employees

Traditionally, companies used external recruitment in the form of advertisement, referral programs and recruitment agencies. More recently the introduction and availability of social media, made it much easier to recruit potential candidates. Taking into account, most of companies seeking talents are typically in the Advertising/Marketing/PR field. This made the most sense. Find talent where the talent spends their time at.

Job seekers used social media presence to develop a brand or a personality to help identify who they are to potential employers or recruiters that might be scouting the space. It’s important to point out that just creating a Twitter account did not mean that you “know” social media. Recruiters do not only look at the information you share but also the information and conversations you create.

Add Zazz to Your Business or Personal Cards

I love meeting new people and I honestly think that most people do too! There’s always a plethora of networking and meet-new-people events going on at any given week in most cities. It’s always a good idea to have handy a business or personal card to give out to people so they know how to keep in touch with you.

I order my cards from Moo because there’s a lot of design freedom given to you and the quality of the cards are great. You can even chose a different design for each card! Go ahead and try them, it’s FREE! I, myself, am no designer but it’s always fun to try and do something creative with your business or personal cards. Few months ago I’ve stumbled upon Wordle, a website that creates a “word cloud” from text you provide. You can also enter the URL of your blog or site and it will generate a cloud using your most prominent words. I loved that idea and used it to generate few word clouds and used Moo to put them on back of my cards. You can play around with the font, color and the layout of your cloud! It’s a really fun way to add character to your cards and a great ice-breaker!
