theRoof TweetUp!

Chicago weather teaches you to be hopeful. Last month I wanted to celebrate spring before it even arrived and therefore created #preSpringTweetUp at @MurasakiChicago. It was a blast!

Spring has arrived since then and I can’t wait till the summer starts. Summer time in Chicago is the best! One of the great pleasures it brings with it is the opening of the patios and the rooftops. That’s why I decided to host a rooftop tweetup. I couldn’t think of a better place than the @theWitChicago and I’m glad we worked together in producing an amazing event. Everyone had a blast meeting people they’ve been chatting with online and recognizing old faces they haven’t seen for a while. Here are some photographs taken by a very talented Errol Dunlap. Be sure to check him out!

Time To Brag

Mar 5, 2010 by

2009 is so last year!

I have said it before and saying it again, 2009 kicked my butt! It was full of too much of the not-so-good stuff. You know what I’m talking about!

That was last year. This is 2010! I cannot stop talking about how amazing this year has been and it’s only been 3 months! Yes, I know I’m over using my “!” marks but I, honestly, am full of excitement for what has happened and about to this year. It’s not really big things that matter, it’s the small things here and there that makes my day so  bright.

I started #ShakespeareSaturday on Twitter and it is getting a fantastic response.  What, you don’t think that’s enough to make my day? Well it is to me. I pick a Shakespearean work every Saturday and pick my favorite quotes from there and post them on twitter feed with the hashtag #ShakespeareSaturday.

Yesterday, I received an email from the ever amazing @FeliciaCago informing me that she submitted a photo of me to Hot Guys Reading Books and couldn’t stop smiling ever since. Yes, you’re right. I love the attention and I’m not going to deny your accusations.

I have, very successfully, planned and executed my biggest tweetup to date. Tweeps came, had an amazing time and I couldn’t be happier with the new friends I’ve made. For those of you unaware of tweetups, they are the hybrid of a meet-up and twitter. Just like tweeps is between people and twitter.  So tweeps go to tweetups to meet the people they’ve spoken to online and never got to meet IRL (in real life) and reconnect with the ones they have met in previous tweetups.

I started working on really fantastic projects that I cannot talk about just yet. Sorry, I was sworn the secrecy for now ;) .

My point is: 2010 is shaping to become a milestone for a great future. I’m having the time of my life and planning on keeping it that way! ^_^/
