Well it was time for yet another amazing tweetup with amazing people. Just wanted to do a quick entry. Here’s a look at some of the photos and the rest can be viewed here. Great turn out, wouldn’t you say?

Be sure to “like” my facebook page for details for upcoming tweetups! Of course, photos taken by the talented @Erroldunlap. Guests enjoyed the tasty creations of @MoreCupcakes and for those foursquare fans, most of us were able to unlock the Player Please Badge!

Shakespeare: Always relevant!

May 1, 2010 by

Shakespeare Theater in Chicago For the past five years I have had the pleasure of attending, almost, all of the Shakespearean works productions at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. It’s always a nice treat for me to be there. The Chicago Shakespeare Theater breaths life into the words I’ve read for so long. For a lack of a better word, it’s magical! Not too long ago, I got to see Taming of the Shrew.

I am not going to bore you with a mediocre synopsis of Taming. That’s not why I’m here. I’m here to tell how un-mediocre Taming was.  I’m not an educated critic. I’m here as an audience, heck I was excited to get a picture of me in the theater!  Yes, some critics looked too harshly on this production of Taming. Yes, some audience actually left during the play. However, I will go there again in a Shakespeare second! In fact, I’m already planning another trip there.

Twitter Unveils New ReTweet Trick

Apr 20, 2010 by

I’m sure many of you have always thought it was an extra step to go through by clicking “ReTweets” then going to “Your Tweets, ReTweeted” to find out who retweeted your tweets. Well, seems like the people behind twitter agree too!  As of about 4:15PM CST today, every time someone uses the “retweet” button  to retweet your tweet it goes directly to your @replies section.  See below for an example. This could be a glitch or not. We’ll have to wait and see. If it is the real deal then I’m happy it was done! What are your thoughts?

UPDATE: Looks like maybe it was a glitch after all. Who knows, maybe they were experimenting with something new. I do hope they do implement that function.

theRoof TweetUp!

Mar 24, 2010 by

Chicago weather teaches you to be hopeful. Last month I wanted to celebrate spring before it even arrived and therefore created #preSpringTweetUp at @MurasakiChicago. It was a blast!

Spring has arrived since then and I can’t wait till the summer starts. Summer time in Chicago is the best! One of the great pleasures it brings with it is the opening of the patios and the rooftops. That’s why I decided to host a rooftop tweetup. I couldn’t think of a better place than the @theWitChicago and I’m glad we worked together in producing an amazing event. Everyone had a blast meeting people they’ve been chatting with online and recognizing old faces they haven’t seen for a while. Here are some photographs taken by a very talented Errol Dunlap. Be sure to check him out!
